Spring cleaning your closet? Storing your sweaters would be a great start. I assume they are neatly folded on shelves, not hanging. But no matter how they have been treated in the past, the first thing to do before putting them away is to clean them. Moths are attracted to your body oil and dirt, not the fibers.
Pillow cases are a great way to store sweaters as they allow air to circulate and act as a barrier to moth larvae. If it's easier to use plastic bags, make sure your sweaters are completely dry before sealing the bag and use a piece of tissue paper in the sweater fold to absorb any ambient moisture.
